Description of the welding machine panel
- A. Welder's LCD screen
- B. Button for changing the welder's work mode
- C. Welding power increase button
- D. Welding power reduction button
- 1. MMA welding mode
The MMA method uses a coated electrode consisting of a metal core covered with a pressed sheath. An electric arc is formed between the tip of the electrode and the material to be welded. Arc ignition is of a contact nature, touching the end of the electrode to the welded material. Adjustable welding power from 20 to 200A.
2. HOT START welding mode
The HOT START function ensures easier ignition of the electric arc by temporarily increasing the output current, the parameter can be adjusted in the range of 0-40 A. Setting to 0A disables its operation completely.
3. ARC FORCE welding mode
The ARC FORCE function dynamically changes the strength of the electric arc, making it easier to maintain a continuous, even weld, adjustable in the range of 0-40 A. Setting the parameter to 0A disables its operation completely.
4. LIFT TIG welding mode
Ignition of the TIG welding arc using the LIFT method. An additional accessory is required, a burner with a gas valve
5. Icon showing whether the fan of the welding machine is on.
The fan icon indicates that the cooling system is active. Its continuous activity is desirable and pays off
6. Indication of the voltage supplied to the welding machine.
7. VRD system
The BJC SW400Ai welding machine has a VRD system. The safety of the welder is highly dependent on the functionality of the equipment used. A VRD is a voltage reduction system whose job is to turn off the power within a few milliseconds after the welding is finished. This function is also responsible for reducing the voltage on the coated electrode to a safe level. Press and hold the Mode Select button (B) for a few seconds to activate the VRD.
8. An icon showing whether the welding machine is overheating
8. An icon showing whether the welding machine is overheating
The indicator shows overheating of the welding machine, then the work should be stopped and the machine should be allowed to cool down, do not turn off the device, the cooling time of the system will be extended if the fans stop. Also check that the welder is not exposed to direct sunlight.
9. Digital display showing the set welding power
The digital display in the center of the screen shows the set output current
10. Recommended electrode thickness
